Summer additions to our collection

Over the past several weeks, the Collaborative has added more than 100 items to its collection. Here is a quick overview:

"All About Northfield" links repaired

If you had read the previous blog post about "All About Northfield" and found all of the links broken, try again today and they have been repaired. Sorry about that!

1889 Northfield directory now available

A helpful new addition to the Northfield History Collaborative for researchers is the 1889 book "All About Northfield." Its subtitle tells most of the story: Directory of Names and Business Firms, Information in Regard to the City, Advantages Shown Up.

If you haven't had a chance yet, check out the Northfield History Collaborative’s newest addition, the full-text searchable “Early Northfield History” scrapbook from the Northfield Public Library.

The 211-page scrapbook is even more useful when you know how to navigate the software, called ContentDM.

Early town history scrapbook available

The Northfield History Collaborative is very proud to announce one of the most significant additions to its online collection.

New book added on Northfield and Dundas church histories

Just added today to the Northfield History Collaborative is a early 1950s book on the histories of 14 Northfield and Dundas churches. It’s aptly named “A History of the Northfield and Dundas Churches.”

The 128-page book was compiled by famed Northfielder William F. Schilling with the help of 13 others. It is not dated, but the last event mentioned is in 1951.

April 21 event cancelled

An event scheduled at the Northfield Historical Society on April 21 -- a future book consultation and open house to identify old photographs -- has been cancelled. The event may be rescheduled at a later date.

Updates now available to E. N. James and Fran Hall collections

New and improved versions of the photograph collections of two Northfield photographers are now available at the Northfield History Collaborative.

Input from those who have viewed the collections and from the community in general led us to overhaul our data, and in the process we uncovered even more details about these photographs.
